Fermented Wheat Germ Extract Explained
What is Fermented Wheat Germ Extract?
Traditional Fermented Wheat Germ Extract (FWGE), is a standardized and concentrated extract of wheat germ obtained from fermenting the germ (endosperm or seed) of a wheat plant. It is different from the ordinary wheat germ in that its fermentation is traditionally done with baker's yeast, then cold water extracted, to achieve the concentration of the biologically-active benzoquinones.
It was discovered by a Hungarian Biochemist, and Nobel Laureate, Dr. Albert Szent-Gyorgyi. Many have since claimed to have discovered FWGE, but Szent-Gyorgyi worked closely with Chemist Jane McLaughlin when discovering the potential benefits of Fermenting Wheat Germ. Jane McLaughlin would go on to work with Hungarian Biochemist Máté Hidvégi; who patented “Avémar” and several ways it can be made.
Since FWGE’s discovery, much research, tests and trials in animals, proved FWGE’s effectiveness in fighting cancer and minimizing the side effects of chemotherapy; the current mainstream treatment for cancer.
FWGE is administered through the mouth to people who are suffering arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, common chemotherapy side effects, colon, sunburn and rectal cancers. It is classified as a dietary supplement and was first sold under brand Avemar which is still manufactured by Biropharma Ltd in Hungary. The product has been medically approved as a dietary food to help cancer patients with their chemotherapy results.
What Medical Conditions Does Fermented Wheat Germ Extract Help With?
Due to its natural anti-tumor, anticancer, antioxidants, antibacterial, and effective reduction of chemotherapy side effects; Fermented Wheat Germ Extract is used as a pain reliever by those who are suffering from inflammation, tumor and arthritis.
Common chemotherapy side effects FWGE helps with are:
anemia
constipation

Diatom Rx Fermented Wheat Germ Extract is an alternative FWGE. Fermented Wheat Germ Extract cannot cure cancer. Who Can Benefit From Taking Fermented Wheat Germ Extract?
Fermented Wheat Germ Extract is good for everyone and it comes with a lot of benefits. It helps boost your immunity to fight cancer hence reducing your chances of being exposed to it, or spreading on healthy tissues in case you are already infected. It also helps reduce radiation risks when exposed, by supplementing your diet.
However, people who suffer from the following diseases benefit the most when they use FWGE because it reduces the side effects of the treatments and increases recovery rates of participating patients.
Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy Treatments
FWGE has a great side-effect relieving effect on patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments because it reduces the risks caused by the process.
It helps prevent high fever, nausea, mood change, and loss of appetite which are common side effects of chemotherapy. In addition, it also controls and reduces other possible effects caused by the treatments by improving your immunity and protecting your body.
Patients suffering from Arthritis
Arthritis is a common disease today that affects millions of people around the world. It has many effects to the body’s ecosystem that can cause damage to the growth and development of your brain. The use of Fermented Wheat Germ Extract together with steroids and other treatments, will help reduce the effects including the morning stiffness which is the common symptom of arthritis. The combination of the two will work fast and effective for patient recovery compared to using steroids alone.
Skin Cancer Patients
Skin cancer is developing rapidly and many people are becoming victims. Dacarbazine chemotherapy is the most used treatment of skin cancer but with the help of FWGE, the research shows that patients stand a high chance of recovering fully with reducing the side effects caused by chemotherapy treatments. Applying Fermented Wheat Germ Extract directly on the affected area of skin, using a carrier oil like aloe or castor oil, will bring the fore mentioned results.
Colon and rectal cancer patients
Fermented Wheat Germ Extract has been proven to be the worst enemy of cancer and using it alongside other medication, results in the best chance for fighting colon and rectal cancer. With the help of FWGE, and chemotherapy, these deadly cancers will slow down their progression reducing the high mortality risks associated with them.
Since colon and rectal cancer weakens your white blood cells ability to defend your immune system, FWGE also helps control other diseases that form as a result of the body’s induced vulnerability.
What Amount of Fermented Wheat Germ Extract Should You Take?
